Taylor

Taylor Swift, the rarest pop sensation, is one who was able to transcend over from country music to mainstream pop culture and become an icon of the pop world. She also conquered every continent in the process. Swift is shedding her country roots like they were second skins, showing herself to be the smartest pop singer/songwriter of her time. She has the ability to tap into the current trend and make it her personal. The skills she displayed were apparent on her first hits, particularly the neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out her true identity and in the process, finding an audience of mass. Fearless wound up having considerable appeal not just in the U.S. where it racked seven platinum singles thanks to Top Ten hits Love Story and You Belong with Me but throughout the world, with a particular success with the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift reached the heights of the charts when she released Speak Now. The next three years, her popularity grew -- Red (2012), Reputation (2014) in addition to 1989 (2014-2015) during which time Swift entered the world of pop music where her talents were already well established. However, even when she reduced her strategy with 2020's stripped down sister album folklore, and Evermore she was still atop the charts, a place she maintained with re-recordings of her back catalog along with Midnights her chart-topping synth-heavy 2022 album.
