Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on January 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with 12 other children. Her imaginative mind was a great way to get away from the harsh realities of everyday life. Songs were being written by her before she had the ability to write or read. As a young girl when she bought her first electric guitar and began singing on the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. She recorded her first album within the same calendar year with Gold Band Records, a small independent label. Although she was in school, she had established a name for herself within the local community. The goal for her was to be more widely known. Following her graduation from highschool in 1964, she swiftly moved to Nashville. The first charting record she had with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on the show he had syndicated to television. Parton accepted the role in the year 1966. She joined RCA Records in 1968, and the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. But she resigned from the show in 1974, as her own releases such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene began charting the collaborations they had with each other. Parton, after the split of their relationship with Wagoner she wrote the song"I'm Always Loving You and had it reach No. #1 for the first time in 1974.
