Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington works as an author, philanthropist, television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece then moved to England at age sixteen. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in economics. At 21 she became head of the famous debate society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student to do so. Her success as a conservative columnist was consolidated after she completed her studies. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online voice-portal that provided an honest assessment of the current political situation. The fame she gained allowed her to persuade a number of celebrities to contribute their opinion on current events, culture and politics. Arianna rose to fame when she made the decision to contest for a non-partisan position for the California recall election to replace then Governor Davis. Also, she was the head of an Detroit automobile project that was fuel efficient. Her name was voted as the most influential women in media by Forbes in 2009 and was awarded the 12th spot on this list. That same year Guardian included her in the top 100 media list. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. In 2012, she became the President of AOL's media group. It was comprised of several AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli was born to Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli, who are both management consultants and journalists. Her character was formed by the closeness she had to her mother and her bond with her father, despite her being very close to her father. Through her early years, she exhibited leadership skills for which her name is still well-known. When she was in her 16th year she moved to Britain to study and enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. While in college she was a member of the college debate group Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master's in Economics. The career of TV host and journalist started after her graduation. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
