Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is a writer, television personality, philanthropist as well as the owner and editor of The Huffington Post. She emigrated out of Greece to England aged 16 where she earned an MA from Cambridge University in Economics. She was the first person who was not from the UK to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Following the graduation ceremony, she was a well-known right-wing syndicated reporter. A few more years later she created The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political landscape. Arianna was able to attract many prominent contributors to share their thoughts regarding politics and culture. Arianna gained notoriety in 2003, when she ran as an independent in the California recall elections in order to replace Governor Davis. Alongside this she was the leader of the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes identified her as the top female in the media industry in 2009. The newspaper was ranked as in the 12th spot on Forbes' ranking. The Guardian also included her on the list of top 100 media for 2009. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she became president of this media group. It included a variety of AOL products at the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and management consultant Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. Although she had a close relationship with her father, the relationship she had with her mother shaped the remainder of her life. In her earliest years, she exhibited leadership skills for which are still prominently known. at the age of 16 she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college, where she was the third and first female to hold the position of the president. In 1972, she graduated with a Master's Degree in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic, and an anchor on TV. She also appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editorial assistance.
