Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin has made her acting debut playing Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at the age of 11, making her the second youngest winner of the award in Oscar history. Anna Paquin is full Anna Helene Paquin born on the 24th July 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian actress from New Zealand who, when she was a young girl earned her first Academy Award in 1993 for the top supporting actress. She played the feisty girl who played Holly Hunter's character in The Piano. Her role was Flora McGrath the daughter of the mute Scottish pianist who, in the late 19th century, moves back to New Zealand for an arranged marriage after responding to an open audition call; she was nine years older and had no prior experience in acting. The actress moved in the United States as a teen. Paquin played the lead role in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part as Jane Eyre in the film when she was only a child. Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 TV movie adaptation of the novel written by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding and also played a part in the title role as Queen Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenage characters in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) as well as Polexia Aphrodisa groupie in Almost Famous (2000).
