StephanieStephanie Sigman is a Mexican-American actress. Her debut role was in Miss Bala, a Mexican crime-drama film. The film also featured her in Pioneer (2013) and Spectre (2015). Sigman was a prominent character in Narcos (2015), S.W.A.T. (2017) and the second season of both series. Sigman was born in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico as the daughter of an Mexican mother and an American father, Lee Sigman, a New York Yankees scout from Kansas. Through her father, she is an U.S. citizen. [2][3][4] Her father, the professional baseball player Kenneth Ray Sigman was her mother. Her career began in Mexican television before she made her film debut in Rio de Oro. She played the main character of Laura Guerrero (Miss Bala) in the film, which is a Mexican crime-drama. [6] The Mexican entry for Best Foreign Language Film was selected at the 84th Academy Awards. [7][8] It did not get to the shortlist. 9 Sigman was awarded the Dublin Film Critics Circle Award for her performance as a film critic in 2011. [10][11] In 2011, she was in Catalina Aguado, the Canadian documentary film Flight of the Butterflies. 2013 saw Sigman play the role of Catalina Aguado in the Norwegian thriller Pioneer
